Eldred Rock Lighthouse was automated in 1973, which means it has remained unmanned for over 50 years! This solitary neglect will take a toll on any building, especially one that experiences such extreme weather conditions as Eldred Rock in Southeast Alaska. Our Association is full of passionate historians and volunteers but restoring, preserving, and sharing this lighthouse takes time, money, and effort. Please consider joining our association by donating annually towards a Lifetime Membership. All Commissioner Level members are considered “Lifetime” and are not expected to keep renewing annually. Commissioner Members in 2026 will be added to our Founding Members Board on-site at the lighthouse.
