When not in use for historic preservation work, there are 3 bedrooms for rent in the Keeper Quarters (second floor) of the lighthouse June-August. ERLPA is suggesting a $100/room/per night donation to hold your reservation (Engineer Level Membership). This donation will be applied to your annual membership that accumulates to a Lifetime/Commissioner Level membership. Common spaces such as the kitchen, bathrooms, and recreational room are shared Air bnb style with other visitors and the hosting lighthouse volunteer keepers.
Reservations are available by emailing ERLPA at eldredrocklighthouse@gmail.com to request access to the Eldred Rock Google Scheduling Calendar. You can then reserve 1-3 rooms or the entire Keeper Quarters for family and educational retreats. Links for transportation options will be provided and your itinerary should be added to your rental application. Transportation options to Eldred Rock island are via chartered helicopter or water taxi. Use of the floating dock is prohibited without prior written permission. Retreat/Rental Request form
Each bedroom has a waterfront view and is simply furnished with a small table and chair, solid wood twin beds and bunkbeds outfitted with waterproof pillow and mattress; and a closet to store your gear. Linens are not provided, so renters should bring their own sleeping bags or twin sheets/blanket, pillowcases, and towels (if desired). Renters are expected to wipe down their mattresses, sweep their floors, and empty garbage before check out.
Common areas like the kitchen, bathrooms, and recreational rooms are shared with other renters and volunteer keepers. Renters are expected to bring their own food and drinking water, and can offer what they don’t use to the volunteer keeper. However, renters are asked to “pack in/pack out” and help keep the island clear of trash and recyclables. Kitchen equipment for cooking, dishes, and a small amount of refrigerator space is available. Renters are expected to wash their own dishes. Paper towels, toilet paper, and a robust “common food” pantry are provided such as coffee, teas, donated dry goods, etc.
