Born and raised in Southcentral Alaska, Brandon first made his way to the Southeast in 2015 after serving eight years in the U.S. Army, including a deployment to Afghanistan. While living in Juneau with his wife, he earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in English Literature from the University of Alaska Southeast and in History from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Brandon first laid eyes on the Eldred Rock Lighthouse in 2020 when he moved to his new home in Haines. An historian at heart since age seven, Brandon now serves as the Executive Director of the Haines Sheldon Museum. He is also a journalist for the local radio station, an AP History tutor, and summer docent for the Haines Hammer Museum. When not managing work, home responsibilities, and community obligations, Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
