“My first year in Alaska was spent as a seasonal guide, floating the Chilkat River through the Bald Eagle Preserve—an experience that changed the course of my life. I fell in love not only with Alaska’s extraordinary beauty, but with the way of life in Southeast Alaska and the community of Haines. Over the past nearly 30 years, I have spent 15 years living in Skagway, building both personal and professional roots in the region. I value the unique relationship between Skagway and Haines and enjoy serving as a bridge between the two communities, both of which I deeply adore. When the opportunity arose to serve as Tourism Director for Haines, I knew it was time to return to a place that has always felt like home. I am a strong believer in community volunteerism and have spent many years serving as a former board member of KHNS, our local public radio station, as well as on the Skagway Assembly. In my free time, I enjoy paddle boarding, spending time in nature, and viewing wildlife.”
